Kirsten, at MJ’s (mjsbigblog.com) has posted in the comments section, some interesting AI tour venue statistics. Keep scrolling down, because she posts them in several places:
http://mjsbigblog.com/idol-headlines-for-090407.htm#more-2786These statistics were taken at the halfway point in the tour. You will note that Glendale, Arizona did well (Jordin’s area) as did Tacoma, Washington (Blake and Sanjaya territory). Even Phil did relatively well in Jacksonville, Florida. Now look at Greenville, SC. Nothing special there. A lot of venues were only half full, but I would expect that if an Idol lived in that city, the venue would do better. I don’t know if it has to do with income levels, apathy, or what. I partially blame the Greenville media for not doing enough to promote Chris after the tour tickets went on sale, and especially just before the show.
And speaking of PROMOTION, why do I not see more Chris fans voting in the USATODAY IDOL CHATTER POLL? Surely, he has more fans than just me, Lori, Carmen and Risa! The young fans are getting out there and voting for Blake and others. We can’t allow the public to forget about our Chris. A positive public PERCEPTION of Chris is very important. Show them how POPULAR he really is. We want him to be successful. Let’s get that “Liberace” vote out there!!
