Try this:
Login
On Forum list page click my profile
Under Your Avatar click Select new Avatar
Click Browse box
Select from your computer files and open it then select image (Bmp/jpeg)*
then save
then Click Upload box
*this is assuming that you don’t want to use an image from “Choose one from the Avatar Galley”
I don't know if this important, try to make your image the size of Avatars shown.
In Windows you can crop and resize images using mspaint.
First make a BMP copy and modify the copy. MSpaint won't usually let you modify a JPEG file or use it as wallpaper and it is good form to work on a copy if you make a mistake, or change your mind later, you can always make another copy from the original and start over. Remember to give the copy a slightly different name so it would try to replace the original. A different name can be the same with another character added, i.e. "image" then "image 2" for the copy
