I also remember the Bob Hope song, but I didn't think it could be the same song - American Idol is cheesy - but not THAT cheesy!. I didn't know who Fall Out Boy was either. Also, I think Clarissa also mentioned the Bob Hope song in another thread. Yep, we're all older than dirt!

Rosalee,

You got to stop referring to our age group as being older than dirt , we're solidly middle aged and hopeful by the time we're another thirty years older we're not BOFs (boring old farts).

enough said,

Ok, GDA
Let's call ourselves the "Bob Hopers". That way no one will know what it means but us!

Or, how about "The Memories"?

(Actually, if we were older than dirt, we wouldn't be on this site)

Rosalee,

I don't know what one should call a middle aged Baby Boomer (1945 - 1964). Bob Hope was really our parents generation.
My perception is somehow we tend to be lumped into the Sixties Generation.

Actually, if we were older than dirt we wouldn't be posting all anywhere, we would be fertilizing.

Calla Lilies, anyone?

GDA

Well, I'm 49, which is old enough to have heard the Bob Hope song, but still young enough to know who Fall Out Boy is.
And I am older than a lot of things, but dirt is not one of them.

Hey guys -

Did you see the post from Susan4455 on Chris's blog? She mentions Liberace! I wonder if she's a member here? She certainly fits right in! Should I ask her if she knows who sings "Thanks For The Memories"? Or, does she automatically get a passing grade?

I wonder if Chris knows who Liberace is?

Rosalee,
I would imagine Chris would know who Liberace is. He may be the only type of "secular" singer he was allowed to listen to growing up!
