Rosalee,

The site is ready to be posted here whenever you want. The sooner the better! I just added a brainstorming _link_ where I'll add things that come up. (I'll also email you the information so that you can access it and add stuff yourself).

You're so on the ball with already calling people and checking prices! You bring up some very good points. We definitely need to throw around a lot of ideas because money might be an issue for many guests. The flight/gas/hotel money alone might be stretching it for some, so we'll have to stay as free/cheap as possible when it comes to the actual event. I think that's why a potluck picnic was intitially thrown out there. But Chris even pointed out the impracticality of having an outdoor event.

We might have to start a "party fund" for those who want to contribute so that in the end it can be cheaper overall. Because whether it's a cruise boat or just renting out a hotel meeting room, we're going to probably have to put some money down for that.

Anyway. I'm spose to be watching a movie with the hubby and instead I'm getting all involved again. lol. I'll be back tomorrow after church!

PS: We need Cathy's email!!!

I think you need to keep in mind that a lot of us can't afford a lot and just getting out there might be a bit of a problem. I'm going to have to save every penny I can somehow get just to get a flight there, so the entire hotel thing PLUS having to come up with money for a giant tent/boat or whatever?

Also how hard can it possibly be to find a supermarket and pick up a bag of chips or something? I'm sure we wouldn't just all meet in the middle of nowhere and starve.

How funny that you checked into that river boat cruise. I also checked into it. Great minds...
I love the idea of a park if weather permits & maybe we could have it catered & charge people.
Just a thought.
I guess we have to wait to see what Chris's schedule is before we commit to a date. I've already checked some hotels & airflights.
There doesn't seem to be alot available over the 4th of July. Memorial day seems to still be open.
When we have a date I will post some of the hotels I have checked into.
The price ranges are from pretty expenisive to really cheap. (wouldn't stay in one of those)

I like the idea of a party fund. With the time we have I'm sure we can come up with something.
I'll get in touch with Niques Nana also. She lives here in Southern California also & I met her at the San Diego show. I know she will want to be involved.

While I would love a cruise, I can see that as being cost prohibitive for some. If you bring your hubby, you're up to 130 and that doesn't include children. A picnic seems more friendly and an easier way for fro patroers to move around and get to know each other. I was envisioning a park with pavilions. Haven't checked what might be available, but I will. Of course, we'd need an indoor alternate location. And maybe indoors with catering might be the way to go. One of Lindsay's friends worked for the Nashville Star TV show last year and is still there working in the industry..she might give us a heads up on something. My Mary Kay director also lives in Murfreesboro, a Nashville suburb and has lived there all her life, so she can probably give some guidance on some alternatives, good caterers, etc. There might even be a church with a big fellowship hall that would be willing to help us out with a location.

Let's get a date and then we can proceed.

You see what happens when you go away for a day, Rosalee? LOL
