We downloaded our copy of Take A Chance On Something Beautiful, the new Half Past Forever album, at HalfPastForever.com. We have thoroughly enjoyed the album. If you haven't done so already, please click the above link and download your copy today.
Take a Chance on Something Beautiful
Half Past Forever was Chris Sligh's band in his pre-American Idol days. Chris Sligh(vocals and guitar), Adam Fisher (lead guitar), and Cole Edmonson (bass guitar) rocked local venues in their hometown of Greenville, South Carolina. Take A Chance On Something Beautiful is an eclectic mix of deep soulful songs and driving dance pop rock. Chris was more than just a band member, he wrote the words and lyrics for most of these original songs, so this album is a great opportunity to see the creative side of Chris!
The songs are often spiritually driven and reflective, but this is far from a one-note band. The song "Closer" (Track 10, words and music by Chris Sligh) is a dark, hard rock song. "Transcendental" (Track 7, music by Chris Sligh) is a brief, but absolutely beautiful instrumental. "Rise" is a fast paced, bouncy pop song. And, of course, there are some beautiful love songs, including "Cry Tonight" (Track 12, words and music by Chris Sligh) and "In A Moment " (Track 5, words and music by Chris Sligh) That's just a taste of what you'll hear on the album!
Half Past Forever
Of course everybody is going to have a personal favorite, and our favorite song on the album is "Know" (Track 4, words and music by Chris Sligh) . It's a very spiritual song with amazing lyrics and a great chorus that makes you want to sing along. We loved it from the first note!
The last song on the album, “How Long” (words and music by Chris Sligh), is very prophetic in nature. It takes us on a journey through the writer's life. It seems to be a song of longing, talks of being away from the one the writer loves, and speaks of wanting more in his life….to follow his dreams.
A good ending to the album, as his dreams do seem to be coming true on American Idol!
(Lyrics from “How Long”)

"All my life's been leading to this: I've been dreaming I know that life was meant for so much more. All the dreams and hopes to be
Are just dreams of something bigger"

Don Chapman, Chris Sligh and Sarah Sligh
Don Chapman has a great blog that Chris Sligh fans will definitely want to check out!
Don is the administration of ChrisSligh.com, he went to the original Birmingham, AL American Idol auditions with Chris, and he’s one of Chris’ closest friends!
Don has spent quite a bit of time in Hollywood with Chris and his wife, Sarah, since Chris started on the road to American Idol glory. He reveals some things in the blog such as where Chris got his necklace and what the symbols on it mean, and what song Rudy really wanted to sing.
We here at chris-sligh.info think that Don’s blog is the best place ever for exclusive scoops and pictures. If it’s a Chris Sligh exclusive, Don has it first!

The Greenville News in Greenville, SC is Chris Sligh’s local newspaper when Chris isn’t singing his way to American Idol fame in Hollywood.
The online version of the newspaper has published a great article by Justin Chappell about the impact of Chris’ new-found fame on Chris, his town, and his band.
There is an emphasis on the attention Chris gets online, and chris-sligh.info gets a mention! Be sure to check back with this fine online publication, because we’re sure they’ll be publishing more articles about Chris Sligh!
