Get your email address book and send them all a message urging them to vote for Chris.  Pick up a local phone book, start in the A’s and get to calling.  Tell them you heard this awesome singer on American Idol and you thought they should have the opportunity to hear him themselves.  I’m not joking.  It takes a grass roots effort to win elections sometimes and now is no different.
 
Organize, call the local radio station you listen to, call the local newspaper, call the local T.V. stations.  Tell them all that Chris Sligh is the odds on favorite to win this thing so they better jump on the bandwagon now, before people think they can’t find a story. 

Call the nearest moose lodge, hotel with a ball room, local bars, whatever, have them get ready for a Fro Patro’ party Tuesday night (not too long away).  Get the media to cover the event and get more votes for Chris.
 
Go to the nearest costume store and get you a Fro’ wig and start promoting Chris Sligh.  Go to the dollar store buy a pair of cheap black square frames and pop out the lens.  Paint a little soul patch just below your bottom lip with black mascara and you are officially a Fro Patroer.  Don’t be fooled by imitation Fro Patroers who only want you to think they are part of this.  Only Fligh Sligh guys do it all!

Why not?  You promote Tommy Hilltoes, by wearing his jeans and cologne.  You promote Abercrumbsy and the witch with your credit cards, why not go all out for the next American Idol.  Think about what you get all dolled up for, a date with your boyfriend or girlfriend or wife or husband.  Why not make Tuesday a date night, invite them to go with you to a Fro Patro’ party.  SERIOUSLY!

Then when it’s all said and done you can look yourself in the mirror and say, “I made Chris Sligh who he is”.  How cool is that, YOU made Chris Sligh the next American Idol.  YOU!  This is not a singing competition like Simon wants everyone to believe (even though Chris is the best singer on the show), it’s a VOTING competition.  He who gets the most VOTES wins.  Bottom line, end of discussion.

My name is Scott Cavin, I’m a close friend of Chris Sligh. We worked together over the past couple of years and I taught him to sing. Ok, not really, we never have really worked together. We are friends and he could sing long before he met ol’ Scotty.

I met Chris through Josh Bradley, who was working with me at a church where I was pastor. Josh comes to me and says he knows this guy who’s in a band with his brother and he can rock it out. Now, as a pastor of a church going through a transformation, rock'n it out isn’t exactly music to the ears.  Nonetheless, Chris and Josh, transformed that little church into a happen’ place of contemporary worship.

Long before Randy, Paula, and Simon started critiquing Chris’ music we had some ladies and gentlemen in our church who didn’t mind telling you what they thought, literally. So, Chris is more than able to handle his own with the likes of Paula, Randy, and Simon.
 
Thus, began my relationship with Chris Sligh. I’ll have to admit, I was hooked on SLIGH from the beginning just like you guys are getting hooked now on AI. His voice just does it to you. You’ve only heard a tiny portion of what Chris can bring.

The wit that you’ve heard, it’s for real. The funniest guy I’ve ever met. True story, looks out in the audience of our church one Sunday morning just before the service, says through the microphone to my daughter: ‘Hey Anna, we’re playing the brat game and your winning!” So hearing him say to Simon, “just because I don’t sing Il Divo or teletubbies doesn’t mean I can’t sing,” didn’t surprise me at all.

I’ll try to squeeze info out of Chris (ok I’ll beg) from time to time to share here on the hottest website in America , Chris-Sligh.info. Not promising anything earth shattering, but I’ll try to get some stuff to share that might interest you.
 
Now for your job…YOU MUST VOTE FOR THE ENTIRE 2 HOURS EACH NIGHT. NO SLACKING OFF.

Howard Stern is trying to sway the vote by getting everyone to vote for Sanjaya. Listen, I like the kid as much as the next guy, but Chris is absolutely the best in the competition. So don’t let Howard Stern or Vote For The Worst get this thing in shambles. Vote for Sligh and don’t stop till your batteries die, then charge them quickly and start again. Charge them during the show so they will be ready to go.

Why, you may ask, am I so adamant about all of this. Because, I have a chance of being there for Bon Jovi week. Purely selfish reasons are prompting me to write. I know it may seem odd that a guy, who has pastored a church, likes Bon Jovi, but I can’t help it. Since 1982 and a 1/2, I’ve loved Bon Jovi's music. Haven’t listen to much of the solo stuff he’s done, but the band is/was awesome.

By the way, all you guys who were at the University of South Carolina in the mid 80’s with me, look who’s still rock’n, John BonGroovy. Get you some of that!

Chris-Sligh.info has been up and running for just over a month now.  March 15th was our one month anniversary!  We've had a lot of traffic in that time period - over 45,000 hits!  Since our unfortunate site meltdown on March 6th we've added over 50 registered users and have 70 different articles, 20 Video Links, 22 Chris Sligh Links and over 160 images in our Image gallery for you to peruse. 

We also added a small chat box that shows on every page of the site and even put Fro's on the smiley faces!  Don't forget to check out the new Games page. It's a great place to work off extra energy while waiting for results night or just to kill some time. 

We became the Official Chris Sligh Fansite on February 28th and that was extremely exciting to us. Chris himself gave us a shout-out in his interview with TVGuide.com. 

Yesterday we upgraded to a newer, bigger and better server which we are very much excited about.  We also have added the site to the Steve-O-Meter Advertising Network and are selling ad space.  Please be sure to visit our sponsors as they are the means by which we are able to support the website.

I'd like to take this lazy Sunday afternoon to thank each and every one of the fans who have contributed to this site by writing articles, commenting on articles and submitting fan art.  You all are the greatest!!  Big props to all of you!

On Tuesday Chris Sligh sings again and we are really looking forward to it.  I'd like to encourage all of you to vote as many times as you can during the 2 hour voting period (yes, American Idol allows multiple voting - it's how they get the bragging rights to saying "37 million votes have been counted!").  So vote, vote, vote!!  Thanks so much for hanging around, reading all our goodies and for helping us support our favorite Idol, Chris Sligh!  :-)

Someone (I don't know who) has done a YouTube tribute/parody of the Half Past Forever "Know" video.  Whoever these creative folks are, my hat is off!  This is the best thing I've seen in a while! 

This group of guys made a video to the Half Past Forever song "Tunnel Vison" and it's great! 

Be sure to watch the entire video because at the end they do a funny little Simon skit which made me giggle.
