 IT'S.... FRO TIME!
Chris Sligh's debut CD, "Running Back To You" drops on May 6th. To celebrate the event, Tuesday, May 6th has been declared "Chris Sligh Day"! From California to Florida, people will be wearing Chris Sligh t-shirts or dressing up as Chris. On this day, everyone is invited to join in. C'mon, Greenville, SC - get out your wigs, eyeglasses and t-shirts! Don your fro on the job, in school, or just around town. Please be sure to tell your friends, or post it in forums or blogs that you frequent. Click here to view last year's "Slighitis".
A prize of an autographed CD, plus a surprise bonus item will be awarded for the following categories:
1. The Best Sligh Look-alike
2. Most Slighs in a Group

 Chris Sligh has just published a partial list of his appearances on his blog that span over the next few months. I have put a link to this list in our Chris Sligh Links library (titled "Chris Sligh Appearances as of 04/19/2008"). I will add updates when needed.
This week, on March 23rd at 8:00 PM EST, Chris appears on the GMA Dove Awards, as has been mentioned in prior news items. If you don't get the Gospel Music Channel, click here to watch online.
On March 24th, at 8:00 PM EST in Nashville, TN, Chris will be performing in a benefit at Exit/In. Initiated by American Neighbor.org, the program "Acoustics for Academics" will benefit children in the East Cheatham Elementary school in Joelton, TN.
Also on March 24th, according to what I had been told back in late February, Chris should be appearing on American Idol Extra. Fox Reality Channel air times are at 7:00 PM EST/PST and 10:00 PM EST/PST.

 Well, there he is! Chris was photographed singing the National Anthem at the Atlanta Braves/NY Mets game on April 6th. According to this fan, he sang "God Bless America" during the seventh inning stretch. I'm still waiting for the video to surface. Thanks, Carmen for the pic!
In USATODAY/IDOL Chatter, Phil's Pages is a nice read from Phil Stacey and his wife, Kendra. Kendra Stacey says that Phil, Chris and Mandisa will be singing to honor Michael W. Smith at the GMA Dove Awards (on April 23rd).
