This version of the song still haunts me, I think that staying power really is the test of a song arrangement, and over time, this melody change , holds a lovely yearning feel to it. Bravo Chris.
After singing this, Sligh told the judges that he had never heard of the song before rehearsing it for Idol. ?!WHAT?! This song has never stopped being played since 1980 and it still gets played all over the place to this very day. There was also a Mariah/Vandross hit of this song. So where the hell has this Sligh guy been?!!?
His parents were Baptist missionaries overseas, and they were extremely strict about the music their kids listened to. Then Chris went to a university that actually expelled him just before graduation just because he attended a 4Him concert. That's a vocal group that sings just about the mildest form of contemporary Christian music there is, but it was enough to break the university's incredibly strict rules, and they kicked him out. So you can see how he might have missed Endless Love.
done recently?
I love the studio version.
to it. Bravo Chris.
