We downloaded our copy of Take A Chance On Something Beautiful, the new Half Past Forever album, at HalfPastForever.com.  We have thoroughly enjoyed the album.  If you haven't done so already, please click the above link and download your copy today.

Half Past Forever
Take a Chance on Something Beautiful
Half Past Forever was Chris Sligh's band in his pre-American Idol days.  Chris Sligh(vocals and guitar), Adam Fisher (lead guitar), and Cole Edmonson (bass guitar) rocked local venues in their hometown of Greenville, South Carolina. Take A Chance On Something Beautiful is an eclectic mix of deep soulful songs and driving dance pop rock.  Chris was more than just a band member, he wrote the words and lyrics for most of these original songs, so this album is a great opportunity to see the creative side of Chris!

The songs are often spiritually driven and reflective, but this is far from a one-note band.  The song "Closer" (Track 10, words and music by Chris Sligh) is a dark, hard rock song. "Transcendental" (Track 7, music by Chris Sligh) is a brief, but absolutely beautiful instrumental.  "Rise" is a fast paced, bouncy pop song.  And, of course, there are some beautiful love songs, including "Cry Tonight" (Track 12, words and music by Chris Sligh) and "In A Moment " (Track 5, words and music by Chris Sligh)  That's just a taste of what you'll hear on the album!

Of course everybody is going to have a personal favorite, and our favorite song on the album is "Know" (Track 4, words and music by Chris Sligh) .  It's a very spiritual song with amazing lyrics and a great chorus that makes you want to sing along.  We loved it from the first note!

The last song on the album, “How Long” (words and music by Chris Sligh), is very prophetic in nature. It takes us on a journey through the writer's life. It seems to be a song of longing, talks of being away from the one the writer loves, and speaks of wanting more in his life….to follow his dreams.

A good ending to the album, as his dreams do seem to be coming true on American Idol!

"All my life's been leading to this: I've been dreaming I know that life was meant for so much more. All the dreams and hopes to be
Are just dreams of something bigger"
