Mute Math In a recent article with Joy dela Cruz of Westender.com Paul Meany, lead singer of Mute Math, talks about Chris Sligh singing thier song Typical on American Idol and how it helped promote thier success.
“We were all shocked that he sang our song,” says Meany, calling from a recording studio in Nashville. “It was actually pretty flattering because usually they only sing songs that are well known or at least one that people have heard of.”
“We sing [‘Typical’] for a hundred or so people in a club and he was singing it in front of a million people,” Meany says. “It’s a real testament to how the fans have been incredible and it’s really why we have a band. It’s just this fanatical ethic, people doing whatever they can to drag people to our shows or to listen or check us out on the internet.”
I must admit I had never heard of the band until Chris Sligh introduced us to them and I really thank him for that. Mute Math is a great band. Thanks Chris!
