Me, Cathy Storms and her friend Jan drove up to Burbank to attend the live taping of American Idol Extra show. It was a very long day for us. When the show ended at 9:30 we were so tired, hungry and sleepy - but it was so worth it.

Perfomers: Melinda Doolittle, Bo Bice (Season 4), Chris Sligh, LaKisha Jones, Haley Scarnato, Gina Glocksen, Latoya London (Season 3)Sanjay Malakar and Blake Lewis.

The venue was very small and intimate. There were about 70 of us in the audience. The stage was like 10 feet from us. All the girls are so pretty. LaToya is very petite. Also all the girls wore like 4 inch "CFM" heels (I hope I don't offend anyone with that reference).

Cathy and Jan wore shirts that read Chris Sligh outlined with silver stars. I had on my Fro Patro shirt. So before Chris came out, they strategically sat us where the cameras could catch us in the audience - how cool was that?

Everyone perfomed very well. Chris perfomed "In A Moment" (my favorite song) and even though he had to cut it short, it was awesome. After his perfomance he came out into the audience and gave me and Cathy big hugs. He was the only idol to come out into the audience and hug his fans.

And another famous person at the show "the crying girl"! Yup, Ashley was there, and yes she cried a lot before and during the show.

As Nique already said, it was an awesome day. We arrived at the venue a few hours early so hung out outside. We were able to see some of the idols drive in and out. We also got to hang out with Ashley (the crying girl) and her mom and got some inside scoop on her. She's really quite a cool kid. And yes she cries a lot. We finally got to go into the venue. We were the first ones inside. As Nique said it's really small. Because of our Sligh shirts they had to keep moving us so we wouldn't be on camera for the episodes Chris wouldn't be on. They taped nine episodes. I kept hearing the director lady say, we have to move the Sligh shirt girls then pointing at us. She finally asked us to take them off. It was really funny. She finally told me that my white shirt with the sparkles on them really showed up on camera. I felt like a star!! Anyway...Chris was awesome. His voice is so beautiful. Even though the song was cut short you would of never noticed. His interview is going to be really intersting. When Chris came back out to give us a hug, I thought I would pass out. It meant so much to me. He introuduced himself to my friend Jan and she is still talking about it. All of the performers did a really good job. I forgot how awesome their voices are. From where we were sitting at the end I could see Chris back behind the camera area and he was haning out with Haley, Gina and Blake. He looked so happy. They all did.
All in all, it was a really amazing day.

A special award goes to Niques Nana who had to sit in the back seat of my mustang for 2 hours driving up there and 2 hours driving back.
